Pasargadea

One important monument of Iran History is “The Tomb of Cyrus the Great”, which is the tomb of the Achaemenes Cyrus II, called Cyrus the Great, is an unparalleled simple but architectural monument. This masterpiece of Iran Tour is about one kilometer southwest of Pasargad palaces. The tomb of Cyrus can be seen from all sides of the Murghab plain.

Especially if we pass Iran Travel through the ancient way from the southwest and enter the plain from the Belaghy ridge, the first noticeable thing is the Cyrus tomb. The Cyrus Tomb was registered in 2004 as a subset of Pasargadae under number 1106 at the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The tomb of Cyrus is, an ambitious, neat, balanced structure which has been remained as a monument without considerable damaging in Pasargadae in Iran History.  This monument in comparison to another kings has the simplest and magnificent design with base- isolated structure that glow in Murgab plain.

It is said that such steep roofs are not common in Iran and reached the northwest of Iran, due to the lack of previous knowledge about other examples of such roofs throughout Iran that even in prehistoric burial grounds is also achieved.

Aryan, Strabo and Plutarch have spoken in detail about the Cyrus Tomb. Arian mentioned that on the gold coffin of Cyrus was an inscription saying:

“Passer-by, I am Cyrus the son of Cambyses, who founded the Persian Empire and was the king of Asia”.
